Slide Template The 2016 IEEE International Symposium on Safety, Security, and Rescue Robotics seeks to continue its tradition of attracting cutting-edge papers (and video contributions) in the theory and practice of robotics and automation for all types of safety, security, and rescue applications such as disaster response, mitigation and recovery; rapid and secure inspection of critical infrastructure; detection of chemical, biological and radiological risks, and operations in these dangerous sites. SSRR is also an entry point for researchers and technologists who want to learn more about safety, security and rescue robotics, through workshops and keynotes. Late breaking reports (2 pages max) and Video contributions will be also considered and peer reviewed. If accepted will be included in the program and indexed in IEEEXPlore. Please note that the deadline for these contributions is extended to 5 of August, 2016.
Late Breaking Reports should be submitted electronically in PDF format via PaperPlaza. Two (2) camera-ready pages including figures are allowed for each paper, using the same guidelines of contributed papers. No-show late breaking report will not be included in IEEE Xplores.
Video will be also considered and included in the program. IEEE XPlore will archive both accepted videos and their mandatory 2-page PDF summary. Note: video submissions are different from media clips that are attached to traditional papers. Video submissions are presented by the authors at the conference in a dedicated session. Initial video contributions (a self-contained 1.5-3 minutes video not connected with paper submitted to SSRR 2016. Be aware that videos longer than 3 minutes will be automatically rejected) consist of a mpeg file (max 50 MB), accompanied by a summary in the form of a PDF file (up to 2 pages long), using the same format as a contributed paper and uploaded to PaperPlaza (using the link of Late Breaking Reports). Your video contribution should not have a commercial pitch. The authors of each video must have clear copyright of the audio and visual content.
Papers should be formatted according to the IEEE standards. Papers failing to meet the correct format will be rejected. Please use the Letter Size Paper Template on the IEEE website: http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
If you prefer LaTeX, use the command \documentclass[conference,10pt,letter]{IEEEtran}
.
Robot Demonstrations are welcome. Please submit a one page description of how your system will be compelling for safety, security, or rescue robot developers and users. Images and video of the demo are encouraged. Please send an email to (ssrr2016@epfl.ch). For more details, please go to the demostration page.
Nominated papers for "Best Paper", "Best Student Paper" awards and other outstanding papers that report field experiments will be considered for a special issue of the Journal of Field Robotics. The deadline for this submission will be defined during the conference and its expected due will be December 2016.
